This 365 GTC/4 had just one very long–term owner, from 1972 to 1989, before going to the owner’s son who owned it until 2003. 365 GTC/4 s/n 14841 comes with all ownership and service paperwork from new, including the original bill of sale dated 19 Dec., 1972, and what we believe is every significant service document from new. 14841 has had all major mechanical components serviced and so the engine, transmission, brakes and suspension work as new. This is a wonderful driving 365 GTC/4, and all controls are light to the touch and operate seamlessly. The syncros work smoothly, the clutch grips quickly and the car can be thrown into corners on Mulholland drive with total ease and confidence. Needless to say this car has a wonderful exhaust shriek, through the RPM range. The body is very straight and doesn’t appear to have had any damage beyond a few minor door dents. There is no evidence of accident or rust repairs to the body, underside or chassis. The body, paint and interior are all original and in excellent condition for their age. The chrome and stainless trim, gaskets, window glass and lenses are all very good to excellent original. The black rubber bumpers show only very minor discoloration. The car sits on beautiful, unrestored Cromodoras with good Michelin XWXs. The interior is representative of a very well cared for 34–year–old car. The seats are original, and in good condition for their age, with no tears or holes. The door panels show minimal wear appropriate for a 41,600 mile car. The mouse–fur dash and console appear to be near new. The blue carpets are very good, as is the headliner. The sill plates and door jams are clean and straight. The car makes excellent power with no smoke, and has excellent oil pressure. The suspension is firm yet compliant, and the brakes stop the car effectively and evenly. Second gear synchro is very good, both when warm and cold. All the switches and gauges are fully operational, including the Becker Europa radio. Much recent mechanical work has been done including an engine out service, a new clutch and a transmission rebuild. 365 GTC/4 s/n 14841 comes complete with the original leather pouch and books, including the owner’s manual and parts book right down to the warranty card and radio paperwork. It also comes with the complete service and ownership file, the original brief case for the tools with the full tool set, plus the jack kit and the jack bag. This Ferrari is an excellent candidate for the Preservation Award at any FCA event. It is very original and has a phenomenal paper trail. All that is needed is a thorough and attentive detailing.
