We are pleased to offer 1972 USA model 365 GTC/4 s/n 15209. This Platinum winning 365 GTC/4 is finished in gorgeous Rosso Barchetta red over a mirror straight body and fitted with a very elegant tan leather interior with unmarked brown carpets, a stunning color combination. Has had four well documented long–term owners from new, with ownership documentation going back to the date first sold in 1972. This show quality 365 GTC/4 has been restored to the highest level with constant improvements and updates, scoring Silver at Cavallino in 2005 and again in 2006. After much work it scored Platinum at the Ferrari Club of America National meet in July, 2008.
The full tan leather interior and headliner are in excellent condition, as are the dash and center console “mouse fur” and the leather–trimmed brown carpets. The engine, transmission and differential numbers are all correct for this chassis. The entire brake and suspension system were rebuilt, repainted and re–plated to Platinum level. The car makes excellent power with no smoke and has excellent oil pressure. The suspension is soft and compliant, and the brakes stop the car effectively and evenly. Second gear synchro is good, both when warm and cold. This is a wonderfully driving car, and thanks to Factory power steering, all the controls are light to the touch and operate harmoniously. Perhaps no Ferrari of the era achieved such a pleasant balance between performance and luxury, combined with the wonderful Ferrari V–12 exhaust note, as did the 365 GTC/4. The car sits on beautiful, restored Borrani wires with “as–new” Michelin XWX tires.
As a Platinum level car, 15209 comes with the full set of books, the very rare original warranty card, the original yellow wiping rag, the jack and jack bag and the full “briefcase” tool set. Also comes with the Platinum award from the 2008 FCA meet, a rare 365 GTC/4 sales brochure, and a copy of the July 1972 Road & Track Road test of Bill Harrah’s personal 365 GTC/4. Priced very right for a platinum level 365 GTC/4 at $119,500.
