With a USA production date of June of 1972, this vehicle was imported to Harrah's Modern Classic Motors, Nevada in 1972. Only 505 of these models were produced worldwide in 1971 and 1972, and USA production was limited to only 180. The last USA unit to be produced was in July 1972 so this is one of the very last vehicles produced for the USA.
VEHICLE DETAILS:
Finished in it's stunning factory original color of Rosso Red, it features the factory correct full black leather interior, black dash, black console and dark red carpets.
One complete "World Class Repaint" (as described by Michael Sheehan, well known and respected Ferrari Guru/Expert when he inspected the car in 2004 in Arizona) was applied to the original damage-free and rust-free body within the last 5 years. The interior has newer front leather seats and carpets, while all other items of the interior are original to the car and in excellent condition. A complete set of five polished Borrani wire wheels with Michelin XWX tires add to the elegant look of this streamlined motorcar.
With over $74,000.00 of restoration, repairs, and improvements (all with receipts to verify the work) having been performed within the last two years, this car now runs and drives as if it were new.
The engine was completely rebuilt from the crankshaft on up, the transmission was rebuilt, a new clutch was installed, resurfaced flywheel, and the differential was rebuilt.
The driveshaft was restored, the suspension was rebuilt with many parts correctly cad plated, the shocks and self leveling units were reconditioned, and a new steering box was installed.
The starter motor and alternator were rebuilt, the radiator/AC system were cleaned and boiled out , oil lines were restored with steel braided cad plated oil lines.
A complete exhaust system was recently installed (not shown in photos) and the exhaust manifolds were Jet Hot coated,
All 6 Weber carbs were also rebuilt, new plug wires installed, new engine mounts, wheel alignment, new battery and all the small "while you are at its" were done during the restoration process.
All of the work was correctly performed to very high standards by extremely qualified professionals at Valtellina Automobili in Sausalito, California.
VEHICLE HISTORY:
With only 35,100 original miles to date, this vehicle comes with full documentation from a total of 9 previous owners (4 of which were Ferrari consignors). A highly desirable California car that has always remained in California from 1972, with the exception of a short time in 2004 where it briefly resided in Florida and then Arizona before returning to this state in the latter part of 2004. The sale also includes the original set of books and a full set of tools as well.
This Ferrari competed in the International Ferrari Concours Judging in Monterey, California and was presented a Coppa Bella Macchina Award and a Platinum Award, both of which are very difficult to obtain. The competition is a complete and extremely comprehensive mechanical test where every component on the car is judged, tested and evaluated to perform exactly to the standards of the vehicle when delivered new. National judges and experts, whom actually drive the car, determine the outcome. Only a perfect score of 100% will achieve these awards, meaning not even one item can be found at fault or the vehicle doesn’t win. Out of the 250 cars that applied for the competition, only 50 were allowed to compete and only 21 of those actually received a perfect score of 100% and earned the Platinum Award.
Please bear in mind that all of the above mentioned restoration and repair work was commissioned by Damian AFTER this car achieved the prestigious Platinum Award, bringing it to an even higher level of perfection. This is most likely the finest example of this model Ferrari in the world!!!
A LITTLE ABOUT THE CURRENT OWNER:
Damian and I have been friends and avid car collectors for many, many years. We also Vintage Race on the West Coast and own and operate our own racing team and cars. While I tend to be the Corvette and Muscle car enthusiast, Damian is a walking library when it comes to Imports and Exotics and he uses his knowledge extensively when shopping for additions to his collection. He is also the most meticulous person I know, which might explain why someone would take an outstanding award winning car such as this one and then spend another $74K on it to bring it up to “his personal standards”.
We first discovered this gorgeous car during our annual trek to the Monterey Historics, Pebble Beach, The Quail, etc. in 2004. This vehicle was being shown at the Concourso Italiano and wasn’t actually for sale. Damian had been searching for a pristine GTC/4 and personally viewed about 40 GTC/4s prior to running across this vehicle. Phone numbers were exchanged and by September of 2004 (shortly after this car competed and won it’s prestigious awards), Damian became the new owner of serial number 15759. Only 32,400 original miles were on the odometer at he time he purchased the car, with 35,100 miles now showing. Another thing I admire about Damian is, unlike many other car collectors, he believes automobiles should be driven and enjoyed, and not just hidden away in some garage….
SUMMARY:
The car is correct, absolutely beautiful, drives as new and with the factory equipped power steering and air conditioning it is a joy to take out on the open road.
The Ferrari is for sale because Damian is expecting another vehicle to arrive some time in April and doesn’t currently have the room to keep this one in his collection as well. I offered to keep it in one of my garages and if it doesn’t sell than maybe I’ll get to play with it for a while….
Also, everything noted above is readily verifiable with many pictures and extensive documentation.

As you can see by my feedback, I take my buying and selling on Ebay very seriously. We prefer to deal with serious individuals who have both the knowledge and the means to complete the transaction if they wish to purchase this car.
No trades are being considered at this time.
A WORD OF WARNING:
This car is being offered legitimately for sale on Ebay by “hubleyman” and not by any other seller. There will not be any “Second Chance” offers sent out under any circumstances. If you see this car for sale elsewhere, or receive any email offers to purchase this vehicle for any amount, they are most likely an attempt to fraudulently sell this vehicle. Be wary and ask questions !!! Charles
